PEGGY’S COVE

There are more than 150 lighthouses on Nova Scotia’s coastline. The most famous of them is the lighthouse in Peggy Cove. This is one of the most popular and most photographed tourist places in Canada.
The rocks in Peggy Bay were formed 430 million years ago because of the dramatic collision of Avalon terrane and Meguma terrane. Time and the glacier smoothed the mountain relief.
Erosion has exposed granite, which now creates a unique landscape of this area.
Canada’s most photographed lighthouse is also the site of the saddest ghost stories.
Our guides will tell you these fascinating legends.
