FIVE ISLANDS PROVINCIAL PARK NOVA SCOTIA

The Five Islands Provincial Park, majestically towering over the shores of southern branch of the upper Bay of Fundy, is one of the most picturesque places to relax in Nova Scotia. The park features 90-meter (300 ft) sea cliffs overlooking the world’s highest tides.
It is named after five small islands – Moose, Diamond, Long, Egg and Pinnacle – located near the coast.
According to an ancient legend, the names of the islands were different – Mimosa, Wilga, Lilli Pilli, Wattle, Clematis and Geera. These were the names of the six daughters of the West Wind. Because they were so naughty and rude, the girls were eventually forced from their home by their dad who blow out five of them into the sea.
Geera, the oldest daughter, was very upset. She fretted for her sisters and sat in one spot on the mountain until she was covered by the leaves and the moss. She became the top of the mountain. This mountain was named after her – Geera, now its name is Mt Keira.
