DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN VICTORIA
Arrive in Victoria, the beautiful capital of British Columbia, and make your way to your downtown hotel. Your Roadbook contains all the information you need for your journey through Vancouver Island and coastal British Columbia.
Spend the remainder of the day discovering Victoria at your own pace. Stroll along the picturesque Inner Harbour, explore downtown shops and restaurants, wander through peaceful parks and gardens, or simply enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this elegant waterfront city.

DAY 2: VICTORIA | WHALE WATCHING ADVENTURE
Today, experience one of Vancouver Island’s signature wildlife adventures on an exciting whale-watching excursion from Victoria.
Travel aboard a high-speed Zodiac into the rich marine waters surrounding southern Vancouver Island. With expert interpretation from your knowledgeable crew, learn about the fascinating marine ecosystem and watch for orcas, humpback whales, grey whales, sea lions, seals and other Pacific wildlife.
Return to Victoria after your excursion and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Explore the waterfront, discover the city’s historic neighborhoods or enjoy dinner at one of Victoria’s excellent restaurants.

DAY 3: VICTORIA TO UCLUELET / TOFINO | 317 KM
Have your camera ready as you embark on one of the most scenic drives in British Columbia. Travel across Vancouver Island from Victoria to the Pacific Coast, passing forested mountains, lakes, rivers and magnificent old-growth landscapes.
Your destination is the spectacular west coast of Vancouver Island and the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, renowned for its ancient temperate rainforest, sweeping beaches and dramatic Pacific Ocean scenery.
Continue to Ucluelet or Tofino, two coastal communities surrounded by some of Canada’s most impressive wilderness.

DAY 4: TOFINO | BEAR WATCHING & PACIFIC COAST
Today, set out on an unforgettable bear-watching excursion from Tofino. Travel by Zodiac along the sheltered coastline, searching for black bears emerging from the rainforest to forage along the shoreline at low tide.
Watch these remarkable animals in their natural habitat as they search beneath rocks for crabs and other food—a unique Vancouver Island wildlife experience.
Back on land, spend the remainder of the day exploring the rugged Pacific Coast. Walk along spectacular beaches, discover rainforest hiking trails or explore the galleries and shops of Tofino.
You may also visit local galleries featuring Indigenous art of the Pacific Northwest Coast, including carvings, prints, jewellery and other works by Indigenous artists.

DAY 5: UCLUELET / TOFINO TO SONORA RESORT | APPROX. 290 KM BY ROAD
Leave Vancouver Island’s wild west coast behind and travel east toward Campbell River, enjoying another spectacular drive through the heart of the island.
Along the way, consider stopping to discover some of Vancouver Island’s natural and cultural attractions. Visit Sproat Lake Provincial Park, known for its beautiful lake and culturally significant petroglyphs, or take a short walk to the picturesque waterfalls at Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park.
Upon arrival in the Campbell River area, continue by boat transfer to Sonora Resort, an exceptional wilderness resort surrounded by pristine coastal landscapes.

Your stay at Sonora Resort combines luxury with extraordinary access to nature. Enjoy the resort’s facilities and outdoor activities before setting out on an exciting Eco-Adventure Tour by Zodiac with an experienced wilderness guide.
Explore the surrounding waterways while learning about the region’s rich marine environment, coastal rainforest and wildlife.

DAY 7: SONORA RESORT TO VANCOUVER | VANCOUVER ISLAND & BC FERRIES
Depart Sonora Resort by boat and return to Vancouver Island. Continue south along the scenic eastern coast, passing seaside communities, forests and beautiful stretches of coastline.
Consider stopping in Comox or another coastal community for lunch, sightseeing or shopping before continuing toward Nanaimo.
From Nanaimo, board a BC Ferries vessel for the scenic crossing of the Strait of Georgia to the Vancouver area. Enjoy views of forested islands, coastal mountains and the waters of the Salish Sea along the way.
Arrive in Vancouver, one of Canada’s most spectacular cities, where mountains, ocean and cosmopolitan neighborhoods create an unforgettable setting.
The evening is yours to enjoy. Vancouver’s celebrated culinary scene ranges from fresh Pacific seafood and contemporary Canadian cuisine to outstanding Asian restaurants. Breakfast and lunch included.

DAY 8: VANCOUVER | CITY EXPLORATION
Today is yours to explore Vancouver, a vibrant Pacific city surrounded by ocean and mountains.
Discover downtown Vancouver and stroll along Robson Street, explore the historic neighbourhood of Gastown, or visit the waterfront at Canada Place and Coal Harbour.
Spend time in Stanley Park, one of Vancouver’s most famous attractions. Walk or cycle along the seawall, discover forest trails and enjoy magnificent views across the harbour toward the North Shore Mountains. The park is also home to an important collection of First Nations totem poles at Brockton Point.
For those interested in Indigenous art and culture, Vancouver offers excellent opportunities to discover works by First Nations artists of the Northwest Coast, from traditional carvings and masks to contemporary jewellery, prints and sculpture.
Spend your final evening enjoying Vancouver’s waterfront, restaurants and spectacular mountain scenery.

DAY 9: DEPARTURE FROM VANCOUVER
Your Vancouver Island wildlife and wilderness journey comes to an end today.
Check out of your hotel and make your way to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in time for your departure flight, taking home unforgettable memories of Victoria, Tofino, Vancouver Island’s wildlife, the remote wilderness of coastal British Columbia and vibrant Vancouver.
